T&T Student Selected for Prestigious National Youth Science Camp in the United States

Port of Spain, July 6, 2026- The United States Embassy Port of Spain, in collaboration with the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), jointly announces that Khavir Manbode of Presentation College, Chaguanas, has been selected to participate in the 2026 National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp) from July 11 to August 1, in West Virginia, USA.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and implemented by the National Youth Science Academy, a U.S.-based non-governmental organization, the NYSCamp is a prestigious three- week residential science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program. NIHERST and ILO Launch Landmark Reports on the 21st Century Skills Across Emerging Sectors

San-Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, June 15, 2026. The National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), today officially launched the Assessment of 21st Century Skills Across Emerging Sectors Reports, a landmark body of research designed to inform workforce development, education planning, and national policy in Trinidad and Tobago.

The reports, which focus on the following five (5) industries: Maritime, Aviation, Tourism, Software design and applications and Agro-processing, provide critical insights into the skills, competencies, and workforce demands required to support growth across emerging sectors of the economy. NIHERST Powers Discovery at Point Fortin Borough Day Science Fair

The National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) partnered with the Point Fortin Borough Corporation (PFBC) to host a Science Fair as part of celebrations commemorating the Borough’s 46th Anniversary under the theme, “Impact – Powering Progress Together.”
